We are officially underway as of Saturday noon! We left Edmonton with Kingsley packed up to the gunnels with all the stuff we think we will need for up to four months on the road.
The road west to Jasper/Kamloops was in great condition until just past Jasper when it started to snow! All the way through Mt.Robson to Valemont was a " white-knuckle trip" and Alan was driving. When we turned the corner at Tete Jeune Cache everything changed for the better and the snow stopped. We parked overnight at the Petro Canada/A & W along with about 20 huge rigs and many snow-mobilers with their fancy trucks and gear. This is definitely a ski-dooer's paradise!!
About 30 minutes out of Valemont Sunday morning, the snow started up again, the visibility deteriorated and we were in a mess all the way to Barriere. Nervewracking!!
Anyway, to make a long story short, we (Alan,Janet & Kingsley) made it safe and sound to Penticton Sunday afternoon. After a nice visit and dinner with Alan's sister Caryl & husband, Warwick, we headed south on Monday.
We are now in Osoyoos, 15 minutes from the US border, and very happily settled in at the N'kameep RV Park where we went for a swim, jacuzzi and a nice dinner in house before settling down for the night! Tomorrow, the border!!
